/MAKE IT

It's friday and, as usual, time for a DIY project!
This week learn how to make braided jewelry: start from stripes of textile (i bought mine already prepared, but you can make yours in an easy way, cutting bands of an old t-shirt, like this) and braid them!
I made two different bracelets (with three and five strand braids) and a necklace, re-using an old chain and twisting the fabric around it! Choose the one you prefer and try to make it, following the instructions from the images below.

A PORCELAIN STATEMENT.

I tried to google statement necklace: you can find as many as you want, huge, colorful and sparkly and sometimes maybe too much. But here's another way of talking about this kind of jewelry. Can you find anything better than this?
Andres Gallardo's necklaces left me speechless at the first glance. Porcelain flora and fauna put together in such a feminine yet absurd way. This collection of horses (my favorites!), tigers, flowers and pretty little bunnies combines metal, leather and crystal fragments with porcelain figures that have been reworked and set into whimsical, nature-based jewelry pieces. Porcelain figures are broken and repolished by hand and then assembled into subjective and sometimes surrealistic compositions.
P.S. the prices are not that crazy expensive, have a look at the online shop here.

SOMETHING NEW.

A (very long) post today to introduce a sparklin' new brand i discovered a few weeks ago and instantly felt in love with it.
I guess most of the ladies can understand how does it feel to find a new (on-line, for now, at least in Italy) store, and feeling so exited and caught up, WANTING to buy everything. Yes, this is one of those cases.

& Other Stories is a brand under the H&M group and since its first collection demonstrates a more stylish, yet simple - scandinavian may i say - approach to ready-to-wear, with attention to colors, cuts and shapes. All of this beauty doesn't stop to clothes though, it's possible to find a crazy amount of fine accessories, from shoes to purses, from jewellery to beauty products (which come with clean and well designed packaging).
Of course nobody forgot about social connections, so here we go with &otherstories tumblr (along with twitter and facebook) for anyone who'd like to try and understand more the brand's vibe, and get in touch with the latest news.
Now it's time to scroll the site, enjoy it, dreaming to buy ALL the items (by the way the prices are pretty affordable too), and wait for the Milan store to open this month!

/STYLE INSPIRATION

Since we find ourselves in this "middle" - end of winter/beginning of spring - season, a period in which going shopping put us in a situation where we can still find some leftovers from the cold times (a few sales?) together with new spring/summer items, i got inspired from some pinning to choose 10 styles or trends i enjoyed the most and which i could take advantage of during this transition period. Of course i would want all of them in my wardrobe!

GEOMETRIC SCOUTING.

"The Boyscouts is a fashion label promoting elegance in urban life, with   products varying from jewelry to bags and accessories.Combining urban and outdoor elements define the Boyscouts’ signature: Contemporary fashion meets the esthetics and tradition of scouting."
I felt in love with this jewelry, made by Zelda Beauchampet, a talented designer from the Netherlands. Not only the simple geometrics frames and the attention to materials: the first thing that caught my eyes (also when i saw the first collection a few months ago - the one on the last pictures in pink -) was the styling and photographs, with all the elements put neatly together on pale backgrounds, just the way i like it!

find out more about the collection here.
