PINNING PALETTES.

 

I love using Pinterest. Waking up in the morning and start the day with this eye-candy always puts me in a good mood and spending hours browsing through beautiful images and creating boards is always the best tool to keep myself inspired.

One thing i really enjoy is going through my pins page and discover what i'm more into during the last week or month, have you ever tryed? Did you ever notice your images sometimes follow a particular mood or a color palette?

FOR A BRAND NEW YEAR.

Happy 2015 everybody! As soon as a new year starts, the time comes for thoughts about the one which just passed by and, why not, positive intentions for next months. I usually enjoy to begin with a fresh start and that's why i find myself looking for a fancy new way to keep that in mind. PINNING MOODBOARD.

I sometimes like to have a look at my Pinterest's images from the pins board, just to see them all together not separated in categories: it's kinda fun to find out that from time to time they follow a similar style or color palette and they can be put together as a moodboard. So here are some of my latest pin, with a yellow/green tropical vibe!

PLANTS, PRINTS AND BIG HAIR.

 

Today i would like to introduce to you a lovely lady's work: Sabrina Arnault is a french illustrator based in Montreal. I really enjoy her black and white pieces, her simple and minimal lines depicting different types of women, sometimes wearing animal prints and surrounded by plants and cactuses.

L.A. STREETS.

I always enjoy to see somebody's impression of a city, and Chris Turnham's one is very peculiar.
He moved to L.A. form Portland three years ago, and started observing what was around him, the city and its many different neighborhoods, each one with its different architectural style and structural appearance.
What came out is a serie of 20 prints capturing as many Los Angeles distinctive spots, from villas to taco-stands: the graphic effect that characterizes every piece (it's reminding me a lot of illustrations and animated works from the 60's) is made from the layers of screenprint technique, which limits every print to maximum 6 colors. The final effect is just stunning.

WATERCOLOR CROWDS.

Today i'd like to show you a new illustration find i'm really excited about (actually i've been rotating some of these images as my desktop wallpaper for a while).
I instantly felt in love with Monica Ramos works, amazing watercolor illustrations, depicting crowded circumstances (how great is the I hate selfies piece above?) with many detailed situations, each and every one unique but always with a stunning color palette and the same distinguishable feminine style.

LET'S GO FOR A RIDE!

Amy Alice Thompson is a Canadian artist based in Ottawa and Amsterdam.
Her work has centred on re-contextualizing imagery from the 40's and 50's through mixed media. Her work explores themes of memory, childhood and the natural world through the mediums of drawing, painting and collage.
I was stunned by her pieces, expecially this serie "Road trip", which she started while living in Portland: the vintage feel and the tidy geometrical composition made me wanna have one of these hung on my walls!
