A FUTURE LOVE STORY.

I guess you've already heard about the new Spike Jonze movie Her. I was really excited about it from the time i saw the first trailer, couldn't wait to see it.
Well, it's basically a love story from the future, about a lonely, introverted guy who falls in love with its operating sistem. Set in a stunning futuristic Los Angeles, the movie is spectacular, with a lot of visual appeal: great settings, with a care attention for interiors (loved the office), accurate photography, attention to colors and an unique soundtrack. With the amazing performance by Joaquin Phoenix, melancholic yet very sweet, and Scarlett Johansson, partecipating only with her soft warm voice, the movie came out unique, intimate and fascinatic. You HAVE to see it!

THE QUEEN OF COMEDY

 We've been waiting for this forever, and finally the first two episodes of GIRLS third season aired last sunday. After being so excited and curious about it, preparing myself for a focused and concentrated watch, at the end i was definitely delighted: smart and comic as always, from the first chapters everything looked more cheerful and relieved after last seasons' dramas.
But what amazed me more in the last few days about the GIRLS news was to see the new designated Queen of Comedy Lena Dunham appearing on the february issue of US Vogue!

Through her hapless alter ego Hannah Horvath, Lena Dunham has brilliantly captured the anxieties and ambitions of a generation.

Together with her on-screen partner Adam Driver, Lena's shot by Annie Leibovitz around NYC wearing some amazing - yet crazy in some cases - outfits: from yellow feathered Rochas shoes, passing through a Alexander McQueen dress and matching pidgeon in the head (!!!), to a more suited Prada dress and Céline multicolor coat.
Of course Lena's not the traditiona Vogue's woman, but it's lastly satisfying to see a young talented girl get the cover of the magazine and taking the place of models wearing all those stunning outfits: could we call it the revenge of the ordinary girl?

THE WES ANDERSON COLLECTION.

What a find: today i stumbled on this amazing book The Wes Anderson Collection.
Being a HUGE fan of his work i was of course pretty excited about this guided tour of the director world, full of unpublished photos, artwork and ephemera.

“The interview and images are woven together in a meticulously designed book that captures the spirit of his films: melancholy and playful, wise and childish—and thoroughly original.” - Abrams Books.

Not being able to put my hands on the material object yet i was really happy with how the author Matt Zoller Seitz expands the book into the website, with a series of video essays guiding us through the  seven chapters based on Anderson's movies Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limites, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom, you should have a look!

FROM THE ROARING 20'S TO TODAY.

Yep, everybody's talking about it, it's Gatsby time!
Since the first previews i was really excited to see this movie (being a huge Baz Luhrman's fan), so even before finally going to the cinema last thursday my expectations were high up: and at the end the film was definitely satisfying.
Critics were not so acclaiming towards it, but myself i really enjoyed sitting on a comfortable chair with my 3d sunglasses (it has been my first time, yes!) staring at those amazing scenic designs, colors, musics, actors and of course all the stunning costumes (my favorite part)!
From the extraordinary flashy dresses of Gatsby's party guests, to men's sartorial suits, everything was styled with a precise attention to details: not only clothes but also accessories - head-bands, hats, shoes, gloves - and hair and make up (you can even notice half-moon manicures), everything looked fantastic, and to me it was one plus reason to see this movie.
And what about collaborations? I could tell there was some Prada behind it! Check out this video, explaining how they were able to rielaborate actual runaway pieces to create a contemporary roaring 20's style.
Last but not least i'm not forgetting about you guys: the suits were so astonishing that the american brand Brooks Brothers created a collection to reproduce Baz Luhrman's film costumes, for any men to get the Gatsby look.

"GIRLS" CRUSH.

Guess who Terry shot this time? Amazing Lena Dunham, the -pretty smart- lady behind the show "Girls" or, can we say, the next best thing after a few years without Carrie&friends. The new season is coming up in a week or so and i cannot wait!

Uh, no worries, he shot "The boys" too!
